In this award-winning film, nine-year-old Lola seems to have it all—in her dreams, at least. In her fantasy world, she leads a fabulous lifestyle as pop star Jacky Jones, who rides in stretch limos and plays concerts for thousands of adoring fans. In reality, however, she discovers that the one thing missing in her life is a true best friend. At first, Lola resents being forced to sit with her classmate Flo, who smells of fish and teases Lola about her fear of frogs. But after spending time together, Lola comes to learn an important lesson about friendship.

Eleven-year-old Simon travels with his Danish mother to his birth country, Kenya. Chasing his soccer ball, he gets lost in a large city-slum. In his trendy shoes and fancy clothes, he clearly stands out, but after he gets mugged, he looks like any other African boy. After his mom, Susanne, goes to the media promising a reward, he becomes a hunted boy, desperate for friends he can trust.

Talon and Raven have lived in Wapos Bay all their lives, so when their dad takes a job in the big city, the two are shocked at the prospect of leaving the place they have always called home. Each reacts differently: Talon sets off to complete his bucket list with his friends, while Raven takes matters into her own hands and begins planning a campaign for her father to run as chief of Wapos Bay. But when things get out of control, Raven and Talon must band together before it is too late.

Ben Stikker and his father are huge fans of magic and spend their time trying to perfect and perform the tricks for their act Stikker and Son. Their hero is well-known magician Hans Smid, who Ben wishes to emulate. At a public performance, Ben and his assistant Sylvie attempt a new disappearing act that seems to work too well. Sylvie promptly vanishes and can not be found.

Suspecting she is invisible to her parents, six-year-old Cathy decides to test the theory by disappearing into the forest. And so begins an extraordinary adventure, in turns harrowing and humourous.

Young Manuel lives with his hard-working farmer parents in the remote, mountainous region of the Colombian countryside. While the adults in their lives try to avoid both the armed military and the guerrilla rebels fighting each other, Manuel and his friend Julián are obsessed with playing soccer any chance they get. Shortly after his birthday, the new ball Manuel received as a gift gets kicked into a minefield, and he, Julián, and their albino friend Poca Luz, will do anything to recover their prized belonging—an essential part of everyday lives and dreams.
