In light of the recent success of the silent film The Artist, and the tribute to the silent era in Hugo, the Festival is pleased to offer the Canadian Premiere of NOT JUST FOR KIDS. This program of silent shorts is fun for the whole family, and a great way to experience Alloy's exciting live performance for the first time.  Among the selections is Buster Keaton's comedy classic One Week (USA,1920), Dream of a Rarebit Fiend: The Pet by Windsor McCay (USA,1906), Artheme Swallows his Clarinet (France, 1912), The Red Spectre (France, 1907), as well as some more delightful, Alloy-selected surprises.

This screening is presented in partnership with the Vancity Theatre.  The Vancity Theatre will screen more films with live musical accompaniment by the Alloy Orchestra from April 14-16, 2012. Please check their website for a complete schedule.

Followed by R2R's Opening Night Party

Join us for delicious appetizers from Nelson the Seagull, Aphrodite's organic pie, and refreshments. A 1920's/1930's inspired photo booth will be set up and Mintage will supply a wardrobe and accessories at the booth. Be sure to stop by, try on a costume, and get your photo taken. We invite everyone to come dressed in festive attire from the era!
